A play by Tereza Briggs-Novaes. Three people, two 9/11s: Chile 1973 , New York 2001.

SEPTEMBER is a new play about politics, lust, and murder that links General Pinochet’s coup in Chile on September 11, 1973 and the attack on New York on September 11, 2001.

As Latin America is plunged into new uncertainty in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia, all roads appear to lead back to Washington. Meanwhile, western culture is riven by self-doubt about its part in these events.

The story of a woman who lived through 9/11 twice, SEPTEMBER links the Twin Towers and the bloody 1973 coup in Chile that murdered hopes of a better world. Three lives, two 9/11s, one deadly deception.

Brazilian theatre director and playwright Tereza Briggs-Novaes has devised a play which spans three decades and looks at the issue of personal responsibility for great political events.

On Wednesday 13th, there will be a post-show Q&A with British-Chilean journalist & documentary filmmaker Pablo Navarrete, www.alborada.net/pablonavarrete
